ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Middle Years Learning Guide, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing transformative learning experiences. You will co-create the Middle Years Program in our new location St. Pere de Ribes that nurtures a love for learning and equips students with essential skills for success. Additionally, you will help us create a positive culture of learning in a new location. The start date is ideally late August 2024.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Program Design: Co-design and lead a comprehensive program for 11 to 13-year-olds, integrating literacy, numeracy, and transdisciplinary learning experiences. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop innovative, student-centered curriculum.
- Learning Space Development: Oversee the design and development of engaging learning environments tailored to the needs of middle years learners.
- Parent Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and program developments.
- Training and Coaching: Train and coach fellow learning guides to effectively implement literacy strategies and facilitate engaging learning experiences.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work collaboratively within a cross-functional, agile team to develop and refine learning experiences. Participate in training sessions and coaching to support continuous professional growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Educational Expertise: Experience working with 10 to 14 year-olds in innovative learning environments. Demonstrated ability to connect with students and build trusting relationships.
- Teaching Certificate: Officially recognised in Spain or another country for upper primary or lower secondary with a certificated teaching license.
- Special Needs: Experience with Learning Differences would be a plus.
- Language Proficiency: C2 level of English proficiency, with preference given to candidates proficient in Spanish or Catalan C2.
- Innovative Mindset: Capacity to draw from a wide range of learning methodologies and adapt them to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Agile Collaboration: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, embracing failure as an opportunity for growth and iteration.
